Atlantic Ocean Adventure Sailing and Sailing Holidays: Algarve- Madeira – Azores – Canary Islands
We sail on a Jeanneau 45.1 Sailing Vessel with 4 cabins and complete equipment, located in Portugal.
On a regular basis, I deliver yachts within Europe and I give private tuition on own boats.
I started dinghy sailing when I was 14. My father built or first dinghy: A Fireball. Fantastic and very aggressive dinghy to sail. But so much fun!
I was teaching sailing during Summer Holidays in The Netherlands and South of France since I was 18. My father was a seaman and First Engineer for 15 years on the merchant fleet. Also his brother was captain and many family members were at sea. So saltwater flows through my veins.
After an international career in Sales and Consulting and after gently pushing the youngest son out of the house, I decided to pick up sailing again and to become a professional yachtswomen. 10 years ago now.
I went through the entire RYA program and became a Yachtmaster Instructor in 2016. One of only a few women in this men’s macho bastion.
During the last 10 years, I have sailed around 25.000 Nm: Norway, Shetland Islands, Scotland, English coast, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium and the whole Atlantic Coast. Canary Islands, Madeira, Cabo Verde. I work as a trainer and delivery skipper for Fontaine Pajot, the catamaran manufacturer.
In 2019 I crossed Biscay 3 times for delivery and training. Also with my own yacht “Archi-Dome” where we got in a non-predicted Force 10 storm and 12-15 meter waves. All went safe and without any damage to ship (and crew 😊 )
My tick-off the bucket list was passing Cape Horn on Christmas Eve in 2016 and exploring Patagonia. A once in a lifetime experience and achievement.
My Women Training Program
I have developed a specific program which is based on RYA courses, but they are not RYA courses.
This is because women learn, acquire skills and knowledge in a different way compared to men.
Our main focus is to give more all over confidence to our trainees and to give them a clear view where they stand at the end of the training.
– I speak fluent Dutch, French, German, English and basic Spanish and Portuguese
– I like cooking and discovering new cultures, inspiring people
– Based on my technical background: quite skilled solving yachts-technical issues
Filip Van Rooy
Véronique is an inspiring RYA trainer, with loads of experience to support all theoretical details.
She respects the pace, the capicities and the limits of every individual.
Security and regulations are drilled in a practical way, making sure that you’re feeling safe and confident on the water. 100% sure that I will attend more trainings once I feel ready for it.
As a person, she is inspiring, straightforward, honest and respectful.
This sailing was fabulous. I do not want to go home!
I have the fondest sailing memories of 2019. Thanks to you Véronique

Véronique is so patient. Private training on our new FP Catamaran Helia 44. I will always remember when manoeuvering: SLOW! One tick forward.
