Currently
Chief Instructor for Solaris Sailing School in Mallorca. I also skipper our Girls Go Sailing Offshore Racing Team in the several 600nm Offshore Races we compete in each year.

Experience
Having been introduced to sailing in early childhood, I continued to enjoy the sport extensively throughout my life. I have crossed the Atlantic in both directions, and sailed from Australia to South Africa, as well as several other Offshore adventures! I worked in South Devon, cruising the South Coast of the UK and across to Northern France on a regular basis, acting as Mate and frequently the cook too! I have volunteered with Youth Sail Training associations, primarily the Ocean Youth Trust, and more recently the National Sailing Academy of Antigua – and enjoy teaching young people to get involved in the sport at different levels, some have even gone on to represent their countries’ as sailors.

I teach several disciplines in the RYA Sail Cruising Scheme up to Yachtmaster Ocean and am proud of the number of students who have become passionate and competent sailors. In particular, I enjoy hearing from the ladies I have trained who have gone on to do lots of challenging adventures – some of whom have become long term friends!

Reviews

I am proud of the many women I have instructed during the development of their sailing careers. Many of whom have gone on to work in the industry and become good friends.

Pat M. Yachtmaster Prep

Made short-notice application to attend YM sail practical course and take exam with Palma Sea School team (primarily Luke) coordinating the training and they were very accommodating and flexible and ensured everything was organised and resulted with successful completion of practical exam. Pippa was training us and was very informative, diligent & patient imparting guidance, information & instructions during the training week to give every opportunity to be ready for exam. Great team and very supportive + added bonus of having had a few great evenings out with Palma Sea School team as well.

Jonea – Diesel Engine Maintenance

“Very informative and helpful. Definitely have more confidence in my ability to troubleshoot if engine problems occur. Once again, I am amazed at Pippa’s depth of knowledge and ability to pass on information in a way that is easy to understand and remember”.

Jonea – Skills Development

“What a fantastic week! I loved every minute of it and learned so much more then I expected to. Pippa is a fantastic instructor. I didn’t want the week to end. We are already planning our next adventure”.

Mary – Skills Development

“Excellent course! Instructor very knowledgeable and patient! Felt comfortable asking questions. Gentle correction by instructor was very professional and helpful. I will give a good review to this school and wouldn’t hesitate to see further instruction with Pippa”.
