As the 2019 Sydney to Hobart Rcae got underway today, the J133 “Euphoria” crossed the start line with Alexandra Booth as skipper.
This is the 75th edition of this 630 nm race across the Bass Strait which ranks alongside other notable classic offshore races like The Fastnet in the UK and The Middle Sea Race which starts from Malta, goes around Sicily, and finishes in Malta.
“Euphoria'” is owned by Anthony Coleman and Alexandra and her crew of 11 will be battling to the end to beat their sister ship “Patriot”.
We first came across Alexandra when she was instructing in Bequia in the Grenadines. She has progressed her career which we follow with great interest.
At the time of writing “Patriot” was ahead with 498.2 nm to go against “Euphoria’s” 505.2.
Follow Alexandra’s progress on Yacht Tracker in this most gruelling of offshore races.
